The Mt. Eden Monarchs will head out on the road to  square off against  the Pittsburg Pirates  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Mt. Eden has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Mt. Eden managed to slip by Oakland Tech the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Mt. Eden came up short against  Oakland Tech on Friday, falling  13-3. The Monarchs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

 Bryan Zamora made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole  Two bases. while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances. Those  two  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.
 Even though they lost, Mt. Eden  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oakland Tech struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Pittsburg put another one in the bag  on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Kennedy get on the board and left with  an   11-0  win. Considering the Pirates have won three games by more than ten  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Ty Thompson was  excellent,  scoring three  runs and  stealing  Three bases. while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Santino Valle, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Mt. Eden's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Pittsburg, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the  victory, which was their ninth straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Mt. Eden might still be hurting after the  18-0 defeat they got from Pittsburg  in their previous meeting  back in February of 2020. Can Mt. Eden avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
