Softball Recap: Oak Hill Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Oak Hill won the last time they faced Elwood and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 14-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won five matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Oak Hill let Jolee Hawkins and Maddie Archer run wild. Hawkins went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Archer went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Ry-Ry Myers was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Oak Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elwood only posted an OBP of .423.

Oak Hill's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Elwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Oak Hill will challenge Blackford at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Elwood, they will head out to square off against Eastbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elwood's pitchers better be ready for this one: Eastbrook has averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
