Franklin has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Racine Park Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Racine Park is ranked 33rd).
Last Tuesday, Franklin came up short against Kettle Moraine and fell 50-43.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lauren Capstran, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds. She scored a full 41.9% of Franklin's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniya Boyland, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Racine Park's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 73-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greendale. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Racine Park had strong showings from Addison Betker, who scored 26 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists, and Ellie Khreish, who scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Betker is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Their wins bumped Franklin to 3-3 and Kettle Moraine to 4-1.
Everything came up roses for Franklin against Racine Park in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 79-27 win. Will Franklin repeat their success, or does Racine Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
