The Terra Nova Tigers won the last time they faced the South San Francisco Warriors, and things went their way on Friday too. Terra Nova came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 60-50. Given Terra Nova's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Warriors are ranked 910th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Terra Nova to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyrone Mehleeib, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Mehleeib hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Vinny Smith was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
Terra Nova has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for South San Francisco, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.
Terra Nova won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. on January 27th. Westmoor is on a three-game streak of home wins, the Tigers a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. South San Francisco will take on the Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Mateo is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
