The Indian Creek Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their ninth straight defeat. They fell just short of Chapelgate Christian Academy by a score of 51-48. Indian Creek was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aiden Evans, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sefton Robinson, who scored 13 points.
Julian Sabbat continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chapelgate Christian Academy, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Sabbat hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. Justin Bishop was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Indian Creek dropped their record down to 7-14 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Chapelgate Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Indian Creek is on the road again on Wednesday and plays the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. As for Chapelgate Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Quakers at 5:00 p.m. Friends is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
