The Beaumont Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Cajon Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Beaumont took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Redlands a 56-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beaumont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon Cuellar, who threw for 148 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave Cuellar a new career-high. A healthy portion of Cuellar's aerial production (85 yards to be exact) went to Kainalu Johnston.
Beaumont didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jeremiah McCarty and Nathen Gordillo.
Meanwhile, Cajon's contest on Thursday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They breezed past Yucaipa to the tune of 34-7. That 27 point margin sets a new team best for the Cowboys this season.
Cajon's win came from a few key players Beaumont will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Maleek Nolley, who rushed for 59 yards and a pair of scores. EJ Carstafhnur was another key player, rushing for 85 yards and one TD on only six carries.
Cajon's run defense was locked in: Yucaipa could only muster 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Taylor Johnson for the heroic effort on defense: he. Cajon didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.8.
Cajon's defense didn't let Max McCarty, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Johnson refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Cajon got some further help from Johnson: he picked up 1.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made 24 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Beaumont pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.9 points over those games. As for Cajon, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Beaumont came out on top in a nail-biter against Cajon when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 34-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
