It was a good run, but the Monroe County Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Adair County by a score of 71-69. Monroe County has not had much luck with Adair County recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Adair County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Cochran led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The game was Cochran's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayton Coomer, who scored 19 points.
Monroe County's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3. As for Adair County, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Monroe County and South Dearborn will round out the year against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. South Dearborn has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. Adair County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Marion County at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
