The Canyon View Falcons entered their tilt with the Juab Wasps with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Canyon View came out on top against the Wasps by a score of 41-34 on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 13-13 at the break, but Canyon View was the better team in the second half.
Canyon View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bethanee Vargas, who scored seven points along with four steals. Vargas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Maylee Spencer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Juab lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lucy Richards, who scored ten points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Addison Hyatt, who scored 11 points.
Canyon View's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Juab, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canyon View will take on the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Emery is ranked 52nd, while the Falcons are ranked 48th). As for Juab, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Rabbits at 7:00 p.m. Delta is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
