St. John hasn't had much luck against Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Islanders will welcome the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. St. John's is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics' hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: St. John's hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Islanders' pitcher stepped up to hand Palmetto Christian Academy a 9-0 shutout last Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Islanders, who have now won five games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Antonio Hernandez
Antonio Hernandez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because St. John's is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Hernandez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Oliver Jayne was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Chris Cruz was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double.
St. John's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coastal HomeSchool.
Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Greyson Stampley, who went 3-for-4 with one double. That double marked the first that Stampley has hit this season.
St. John's has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. John's has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
