Last Tuesday, Amelia Academy took a serious blow against Kenston Forest, falling 58-23. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Amelia Academy in their matchups with Kenston Forest: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Amelia Academy got a solid performance out of Isabella Arbitelle, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 steals. That was a full 47.8% of Amelia Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Arbitelle, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Fuqua fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They snuck past Cumberland with a 32-26 win on Wednesday.
Amelia Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.5 points per game. As for Fuqua, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
Amelia Academy came up short against Fuqua when the teams last played on January 3rd, falling 34-24. Can Amelia Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
