On Friday, the Alpine Bucks's game was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 53-38 victory over Compass Academy. That's two games straight that Alpine has won by exactly 15 points.
It was another big night for Novah Carrasco, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. Karolina Castillo was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Compass Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Even though they lost, Compass Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Alpine and bumps their season record up to 4-9. As for Compass Academy, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Alpine will challenge Crane at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Compass Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Presidio at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
