After a string of three wins, the Lee's Summit North Broncos's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Blue Valley Northwest. Lee's Summit North lost against Blue Valley Northwest in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 40-35 score last time.
Blue Valley Northwest was led to victory by Lainie Douglas and Gabi Mcfall. Douglas dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Mcfall scored 12 points along with five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Douglas has scored at least 25% of Blue Valley Northwest's points.
Lee's Summit North's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Blue Valley Northwest, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Lee's Summit North will head out on the road to face off against Lee's Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Blue Valley Northwest will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Topeka at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
