Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the Maranatha Minutemen couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost to Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary on the road by a decisive 25-7 margin on Friday. Maranatha's defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Luke Mcnulty threw for 141 yards and a touchdown. Bradley Loiacono was his top target, picking up 68 receiving yards. On the ground, Miles Omalley rushed for 44 yards.
Angel Cevallos was his usual excellent self, rushing for 250 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Cevallos hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
Maranatha's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 9-3 record.
Maranatha does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary will head out on the road to face off against Westminster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
