Johnson Creek has gone 9-1 against Parkview recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Bluejays will host the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Johnson Creek has eight straight wins, Parkview has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Johnson Creek's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Williams Bay. Considering the Bluejays have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Hailee Walk's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single walk in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madi Brigowatz, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Fincutter, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Johnson Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williams Bay only managed eight hits.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Parkview's offense. They lost 16-0 to Deerfield on Thursday.
Johnson Creek pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Parkview, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.
Johnson Creek took their victory against Parkview in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a conclusive 19-0 score. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
