Two dominant signal callers in Landon Husereau and Gavin Marsh are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Westerly Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Moses Brown Quakers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Westerly is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Central, who was ranked ninth at the time (Westerly was ranked sixth). The Bulldogs strolled past the Knights with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 30-14. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Westerly found their leader in sophomore Husereau, who threw for 251 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 32 yards and two TDs.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Westerly's defense and their five sacks. In that department, Damon Uva was the leader with two. He has been hot for a while, having also posted five or more total tackles the last nine times he's played.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moses Brown). They really took it to Rogers for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-7 victory. The Quakers have beaten the Vikings the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Vikings has come to flipping the script.
Moses Brown's win came from a few key players Westerly will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Eric Jeffreys, who picked up 71 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Nahziel Rodriguez was another key player, rushing for 95 yards on only ten carries.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Moses Brown, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jeffreys, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Westerly's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Moses Brown, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Westerly against Moses Brown when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 42-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
