Football Recap: Arlington Skates Past Ridgeway with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arlington). They blew past the Ridgeway Roadrunners, posting a 50-0 victory. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-6), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Arlington found their leader in sophomore Rod Lucas, who rushed for 71 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Kameron Johnson, who rushed for 33 yards and two TDs.

Arlington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nick Pope and Will Hargrave.

Arlington's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.5 points on average this season. As for Ridgeway, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arlington will host Collierville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Dragons have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Ridgeway, they will be playing at home against Kirby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Roadrunners their first taste of in-conference action this season.
