The Othello Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Enumclaw Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Othello had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six two weeks ago. They blew past East Valley 49-13 on the road. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Othello had established a 35 point advantage.
Meanwhile, Enumclaw put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They didn't even let Sammamish onto the board and left with a 77-0 win. Given Enumclaw's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Sammamish is ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Enumclaw to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wyatt Neu, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 62 receiving yards. Neu really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. Another player making a difference was Tristan Donovan, who rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns.
Othello's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points per game. As for Enumclaw, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
Othello couldn't quite finish off Enumclaw in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 and fell 20-17. Can Othello avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
