The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (North Valley Christian Academy is ranked 192nd, while Valley Lutheran is ranked 190th).
Even though North Valley Christian Academy has not done well against Anthem Prep recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. North Valley Christian Academy came out on top against Anthem Prep by a score of 57-48. The win made it back-to-back wins for North Valley Christian Academy.
North Valley Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Triniti Terracciano, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Terracciano has scored at least 25% of North Valley Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Abby Rice, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Valley Lutheran beat Hayden 39-34 on Friday. The win was just what Valley Lutheran needed coming off of a 69-27 loss in their prior contest.
Valley Lutheran found their leader in underclassman Elise Winter , who scored 22 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Viddiate Clinton , who scored 9 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
North Valley Christian Academy's victory bumped their season record to 5-6 while Anthem Prep's defeat dropped theirs to 2-4.
North Valley Christian Academy was taken down by Valley Lutheran 72-13 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can North Valley Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
