The Collinwood Trojans were the 39-35 winner over the Perry County Vikings when they last played one another back in January of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Collinwood took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Perry County on Friday.
Maddi Wright continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Perry County, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds. Wright continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Byrd, who scored ten points.
Collinwood bumped their record down to 4-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Perry County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Collinwood will be playing at home against Hughes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Perry County, they will head out on the road to face off against Lewis County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lewis County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 349th, while Perry County is ranked 127th).
