They took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. Grand Island Central Catholic just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Grand Island Central Catholic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Thomas Liban. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Braylon Wolfe, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Adams Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Janzen out in front who scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that Janzen scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Nepple, who scored 13 points.
Grand Island Central Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Adams Central, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Grand Island Central Catholic will head out on the road to take on Kearney Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Kearney Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday. As for Adams Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwest at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Adams Central is ranked 36th).
