West Liberty-Salem is 9-1 against Catholic Central since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The West Liberty-Salem Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Catholic Central Irish at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Despite the defeat, West Liberty-Salem saw an underclassman step up: freshman Addison Wallen went 5 of 11 en route to 16 points. Wallen has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.
Meanwhile, Catholic Central also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Triad by a score of 46-36. The Irish were down 39-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
West Liberty-Salem will have to contain Danaysha Dearmond as she made an impact in Catholic Central's last game. She posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayonna Dearmond, who had two points along with nine boards and three steals.
Even though they lost, Catholic Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
West Liberty-Salem's record is now 6-3. As for Catholic Central, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: West Liberty-Salem has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Catholic Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for West Liberty-Salem against Catholic Central when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 56-24 victory. In that contest, West Liberty-Salem amassed a halftime lead of 34-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
