There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the games was a one-point thriller between Dorman and Spartanburg.
Welcome
The power rankings welcomes a newcomer to the scene as Rock Hill earned the 25th spot after its strong showing last week. The final score between it and Fort Mill was a 71 - 0 blowout in Rock Hill's favor. At 71 points, that marked Rock Hill's largest margin of victory so far this year.
Can't Touch This
Dutch Fork got a 70 - 7 win over Chapin last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Jonathan "jon" Hall. Hall earned three touchdowns and 185 yards rushing the ball. That performance landed Hall among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The confrontation between Dorman (5th in the power rankings) and Spartanburg (18th) did not disappoint. Dorman won a game that couldn't get any closer, slipping by Spartanburg 34 - 33. Dorman was the clear favorite in this matchup, so the near-loss was an unusual surpise.
Movin on Up
Irmo claimed most-improved honors this week by climbing the power ranking ladder 12 rungs after its game against Spring Valley. Irmo came out on top in a nail-biter against Spring Valley, sneaking past 31 - 28. The Spring Valley defense has struggled this season (giving up an average of 35 points per game), and Irmo took advantage of that.
