Berks Inter-County 2 recap November 5, 2013
Zach Koenig and Cody Wolf provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Kutztown. The connection went for 72 yards, the longest such play in Berks Inter-County 2 this season.
Fleetwood was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in the league. The Tigers vanquished the Cougars 62-26 earlier in the week.
Shane Grapsy threw for 312 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Tyler Emge was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 98 yards on 5 carries as Fleetwood fell to Schuylkill Haven. Thaddeus Cornick also contributed to the rushing game with 22 yards on the ground.
Thanks to the talents of Grapsy and Will Bornstein, the Eagles have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Grapsy is tops in the league in passing with 1,438 yards, while Bornstein has rushed for 1,158 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is James Martinez's team's Michael Allen, with 564 yards on 34 catches.
A big matchup in Berks Inter-County 2 this week will be when Schuylkill Valley takes on Wyomissing. At the moment, the Panthers are in second, while the Spartans are in fourth.
Berks Catholic added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Wyomissing, 14-13. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
