Lake Stevens is a perfect 10-0 against Cascade since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Vikings will welcome the Bruins at 4:30 p.m. Lake Stevens is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
On Friday, Lake Stevens came up short against Stanwood and fell 8-5.
Katie Lingren was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was McKenna Richer, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Cascade had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let Mountlake Terrace get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Wednesday. The Bruins not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 17-6).
The result came thanks to Mia Walker's shutout, as she gave up just two hits.
On the hitting side, Cienna Cannon was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Tessa Hahn was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.
Cascade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Lake Stevens' loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Cascade, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Lake Stevens hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Cascade struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Lake Stevens' way against Cascade when the teams last played on April 1st, as Lake Stevens made off with a 10-2 victory. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bruins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
