Given Kennedy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while McClatchy is ranked 782nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Kennedy to victory were Jordan Lawrence and Aharon Young. Lawrence scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, while Young scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lawrence has scored all season. Eric Lopez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven assists.
The victory makes it two in a row for Kennedy and bumps their season record up to 13-7. As for McClatchy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennedy will take on Grant at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for McClatchy, they will be playing at home against Laguna Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
