Broadwater Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Isle of Wight Academy Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Broadwater Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
After only 25 points in their last matchup, Broadwater Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against Holly Grove Christian. Broadwater Academy strolled past Holly Grove Christian with points to spare, taking the game 61-43. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Broadwater Academy has managed all season.
Rufus Abbott had an outrageously good game as he scored 21 points along with nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Noah Pruitt, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Isle of Wight Academy, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. Their tough 61-38 defeat to Greenbrier Christian Academy on Friday might stick with them for a while.
Broadwater Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Isle of Wight Academy, they bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Broadwater Academy skirted past Isle of Wight Academy 76-74 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Broadwater Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
