With a playoff win on the line, Atlantic Collegiate Academy rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 46-38 win over the Lake Marion Gators. Winning may never get old, but the Armada sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Atlantic Collegiate Academy found their leader in sophomore Zaniya Blackmon, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. Amanda Garza was another key player, putting up ten points.
Lake Marion's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Zimarika Moorer, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 14 points and seven steals, and Jimyria Green, who had ten points. Moorer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandria Fogle, who scored four points.
Atlantic Collegiate Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Lake Marion, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 22-2.
Coming up, Atlantic Collegiate Academy will face off against Andrew Jackson on Tuesday. One thing working in Andrew Jackson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 19 contests. Lake Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
