The Rio Vista Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 35-19 win over Axtell. The win was some much needed relief for Rio Vista as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Rio Vista got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shiloh Johnson out in front who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Johnson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Cook, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Rio Vista's victory bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Axtell, they bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Rio Vista will head out on the road to face off against Lake Worth at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Lake Worth is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. Axtell will be home for the holidays to greet Wortham at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Wortham comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last ten games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
