Softball Recap: Eastwood Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Eastwood had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They blew past the Rossford Bulldogs 9-1. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

MacKenzie Hady spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Addison Bowe was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Lubash, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Eastwood's win bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Rossford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Eastwood will square off against rival Maumee at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are on a five-game streak of home wins, the Panthers a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Meanwhile, Rossford is set to challenge their familiar foe Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
