The Belle Fourche Broncs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 62-38 defeat at the hands of Custer. While losing is never fun, Belle Fourche can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Wildcats are ranked 23rd).
Several Broncs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jet Jensen, who scored ten points. Jordan Sandoval was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Belle Fourche has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Custer, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belle Fourche will take on the Comets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rapid City Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,038 points over their last 14 matchups. As for Custer, they will be playing at home against the Spartans at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
