Basketball Game Preview: Bishop McDevitt Crusaders vs. Boiling Springs Bubblers

The Bishop McDevitt Crusaders will head out to take on the Boiling Springs Bubblers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Bishop McDevitt is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Trinity just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost to the Shamrocks on the road by a 52-33 margin. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 90th).

Leilah Horshaw put forth a good effort for the losing side as she went 6 for 14 en route to 12 points and four steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Meanwhile, Boiling Springs had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 47-21 margin over the Lions. The Bubblers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 25 points or more this season.

Boiling Springs pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Bishop McDevitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Bishop McDevitt might still be hurting after the 54-29 loss they got from Boiling Springs in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Boiling Springs' Molly Kimmel, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine steals.
