Guntersville is 7-2 against Albertville since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Guntersville Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Albertville Aggies at 7:00 p.m. Guntersville is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Guntersville never let their opponents score. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sardis 55-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Guntersville, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Guntersville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Morrison led the charge by throwing for 184 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes. Julyon Jordan also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Albertville, who are still winless after their ninth match. They were dealt a 51-6 defeat at the hands of Bob Jones on Friday. While losing is never fun, Albertville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Bob Jones is ranked 66th).
Guntersville's win bumped their season record to 7-1 while Albertville's loss dropped theirs to 0-9.
Everything came up roses for Guntersville against Albertville in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 49-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Guntersville since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
