The Norview Pilots were the 80-56 winner over the Manor Mustangs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Norview took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Manor. While losing is never fun, Norview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Manor is ranked 16th).
Norview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leyla Minor, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The game was Minor's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kayla Hayes, who scored 12 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Norview and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Manor, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norview will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Norcom at 5:30 p.m. on December 22nd. As for Manor, they will challenge Granby at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
