Cambridge Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Our Lady of the Rosary Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Cambridge Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Wardlaw Academy with points to spare, taking the game 83-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Andrew Wiley was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 38 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Maddox Lee was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Meanwhile, Our Lady of the Rosary had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Oconee Christian Academy on Tuesday as Our Lady of the Rosary made off with a 57-36 victory.
Cambridge Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Our Lady of the Rosary, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Cambridge Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over the Lions when the teams last played back in January, winning 62-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cambridge Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
