Baseball Game Preview: Eatonville Cruisers vs. Washington Patriots

For the second straight game, Eatonville will face off against Washington. The Cruisers will host the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Eatonville barely beat Washington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cruisers never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Cruisers in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.

Brody Thirtyacre was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Eatonville is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-9 otherwise. Thirtyacre was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Thirtyacre wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ben Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Smith is becoming a predictor of Eatonville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-8 when he doesn't). Colton Herbrand was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Washington's loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Eatonville, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
