The Lawrenceville Indians entered their tilt with the Altamont Indians with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Lawrenceville enjoyed a cozy 58-40 victory over Altamont on Saturday. This was payback for Lawrenceville, who suffered a 63-53 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Lawrenceville to victory were Maddox Pargin and Bryant Jenkins. Pargin scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Jenkins scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Jenkins hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Sanders, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaidyn Miller, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Eli Miller was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Even though they lost, Altamont were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrenceville only racked up seven assists.
Lawrenceville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. As for Altamont, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.
Lawrenceville is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Red Hill at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Lawrenceville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 561 points over their last nine contests. As for Altamont, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Neoga at 7:30 p.m. Neoga will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 623rd, while Altamont is ranked 181st).
