Even though the Southwestern Randolph Cougars scored an imposing 70 points on Tuesday, the Eastern Randolph Wildcats still came out on top. Eastern Randolph walked away with an 80-70 win over Southwestern Randolph. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Eastern Randolph.
Eastern Randolph's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nicah Taylor, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Taylor is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Julian Brooks was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Loss or not, Southwestern Randolph got some senior leadership from Marcus Robertson and Nathan Ellis. Robertson scored 25 points along with two steals, while Ellis. scored 21 points along with eight assists. Another player making a difference was Brayden Chapman, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Eastern Randolph has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Southwestern Randolph, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-15.
