The Okawville Rockets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sparta. Okawville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sparta apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Sparta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Robert Greer, who scored 12 points along with four steals. The contest was Greer's third in a row with at least ten points. Dariontez Monroe was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Okawville's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sparta, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Okawville will head out on the road to face off against Nashville at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Sparta won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Valle Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th.
