The Evergreen Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They really took it to Battle Mountain for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-25 victory at home. The victory was nothing new for Evergreen as they're now sitting on five straight.
Taylor Bailey had a dynamite game for Evergreen, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Mary Cox was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Battle Mountain lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elle Glendining, who scored four points along with two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Rodriguez, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Battle Mountain struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Evergreen racked up 21 assists.
Evergreen pushed their record up to 12-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Battle Mountain, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Evergreen will head out on the road to take on Lakewood at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lakewood has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7. As for Battle Mountain, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Glenwood Springs at 5:30 p.m.
