Cole Thompson put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in May of 2024 on Wednesday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Henderson County is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-8 otherwise.

Coming up, Thompson and Henderson County will square off against Lyon County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Colonels will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 93 places lower in Kentucky), but they're not letting that get them down.
