The Notus Pirates lost against the Liberty Charter Patriots back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Notus was dealt a 66-38 loss at the hands of Liberty Charter. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Notus in their matchups with Liberty Charter: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Notus had strong showings from Grayson Benitez, who scored 14 points, and Benny Guevara, who scored 14 points. The game was Guevara's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Notus struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Notus' defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Liberty Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notus' road trip will continue as they head out to face Glenns Ferry at 5:30 p.m. on January 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Glenns Ferry is ranked 70th, while Notus is ranked 72nd). As for Liberty Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Murtaugh at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
