Eufaula played a tough  game  on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost  35-14 to the Russell County Warriors. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in August of 2024.

 When it comes to explaining why Eufaula lost, don't look at  Jaylin Wright. Despite the final result, he rushed for 114 yards and two  scores. Wright's rushing production has been exceptional  recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 103  rushing yards dating back to last season.
 Russell County's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Chris Lucas, who rushed for 172 yards and one  touchdown while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Those  172  rushing yards gave  Lucas a new career-high.  Quentin Lewis also helped with two TDs in total.
Eufaula's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Russell County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
 Eufaula and Russell County will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Tigers will  challenge  rival Montgomery Catholic  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Russell County is set to  take on  their familiar foe Wetumpka  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
