The Belle Fourche Broncs's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against Harding County by a score of 52-42. For Belle Fourche, this counts as revenge for the 62-48 defeat Harding County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Belle Fourche found their leader in underclassman Gavin Pearson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pearson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jet Jensen, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Several Ranchers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Payton Dvorak, who scored 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Dvorak hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Cohen Smith, who scored 11 points.
Belle Fourche's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8. As for Harding County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.
Belle Fourche will head out on the road to take on Wall at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Brodi Sundall and Jensen. As for Harding County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Underwood at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (New Underwood is ranked 94th, while Harding County is ranked 99th).
