One thing working in Monroe County's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
Monroe County pushed their score all the way to 69 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Adair County by a score of 71-69. While losing is never fun, Monroe County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Adair County is ranked 20th).
Meanwhile, South Dearborn's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Decatur.
Monroe County's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3. As for South Dearborn, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
