You might not recognize the power rankings this week after a busy last week rearranged the teams a whole lot. A special shoutout goes to Daniel's junior Tyler Venables, who scored five total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Daniel has been an offensive powerhouse for six straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It scooted by Wren with a score of 51 - 31. The win took its toll on the QB, however, as he was sacked seven times. Tyler Venables deserves a lot of credit in the win. He tossed for two touchdowns and rushed for three more, a performance good enough to make him one of the top players in the power rankings last week.
A
The battle between Berkeley (ranked 13th in the power rankings) and Fort Dorchester (ranked 5th) turned out to be a fierce competition. Berkeley and Fort Dorchester were almost perfectly matched up, but Berkeley suffered an agonizing 21 - 20 defeat. Berkeley lost a lot of ground in this match: the team forfeited six spots in the power rankings.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
Chester was the big favorite in its game against Keenan last week, and for good reason. Chester put the hurt on Keenan with a conclusive 54 - 6 victory. One of the main ringleaders for Chester was senior Emmanuel Wright, who ran for 101 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. With eight consecutive wins, Chester boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Dorman (8th in the power rankings) and Byrnes (3rd). Byrnes will be strutting in after a win while Dorman will be stumbling in from a defeat. Dorman has never lost back-to-back this season, but Byrnes hopes to show it that there is a first time for everything.
