The Cottage Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Atlanta Jewish Academy Jaguar at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cottage has eight straight wins, the Jaguar have eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Cottage didn't have too much trouble with the Panthers on the road as they won 44-25. Cottage pushed the score to 37-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.
Alyssa Briggs continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Cottage's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Workman, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-2, which was the final score in Atlanta Jewish Academy's tilt against the Eagles back in January.
Cottage's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. As for Atlanta Jewish Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Cottage came up short against the Jaguar when the teams last played back in December of 2021, falling 37-26. Can Cottage avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
