The Westbrook Blue Blazes will be home for the holidays to greet the Kennebunk Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kennebunk took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Westbrook, who comes in off a win.
Westbrook scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against York and snuck past 58-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Westbrook's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylar Hodge , who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Hodge pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Young , who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Kennebunk took a serious blow against Brunswick on Friday, falling 58-30. Kennebunk has struggled against Brunswick recently, as their match on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Westbrook's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Kennebunk, they bumped their record down to 1-2 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Westbrook didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Kennebunk when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 55-50 win. Will Westbrook repeat their success, or does Kennebunk have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
