Baseball Recap: North Georgia HomeSchool Triumphs

North Georgia HomeSchool was forced to take a big defeat against they on Saturday, they got the better of them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Upstate Eagles by a score of 10-7. Considering the Tribe's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Kirk Dotson made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. Dotson was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of North Georgia HomeSchool's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 3-1 (and 2-14 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Cooper Sikorski was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. He has become a key player for North Georgia HomeSchool: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-14 otherwise. Eli Dill was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

North Georgia HomeSchool always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upstate only posted an OBP of .387.

North Georgia HomeSchool's record now sits at 5-15. As for Upstate, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

North Georgia HomeSchool wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-10 tie against Heritage Preparatory on the 14th. As for Upstate, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
