After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Boles, the Excel Christian Academy Eagles were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They skirted past Whitewright 52-50.
Luke Kelley was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Excel Christian Academy's points. Nate Stapleton was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
The win got Excel Christian Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Whitewright, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Sulphur Bluff the next time they take the court. Excel Christian Academy will head out to face Sulphur Bluff at 2:40 p.m. on Friday, while Whitewright will head out to face them at 2:40 p.m. on Friday.
