Baseball Recap: Davenport Wins Going Away Against Meeker

Davenport barely beat Meeker the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Davenport put the hurt on Meeker with a sharp 10-3 win on Tuesday. Davenport might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Brody Robinson was a standout: he scored a run while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Ivan Morris, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Robinson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Davenport kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.

Davenport has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Meeker, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8.

Looking ahead, Davenport will face off against Chandler at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Meeker, they will square off against Luther at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
